Analysis of results from a Living Well programme for people with cancer, in both 2013-14, and 2014-15. The programme mainly contained activity and exercise classes.
It was found that the overwhelming majority of participants experienced improved feelings of self worth and were more active after participation. It also appeared that motivation to continue exercise activity was high, and this is likely to provide continued social contact which will benefit psychological wellbeing in addition to the physical benefits of exercise. There were a great many examples of expressions of gratitude and enjoyment resulting from the programme.
